Wow, this is an interesting question. I have been on the sea shore a lot many times

and I have done a lot of adventurous and recreational activities on the beach.

However, I have never indulged in a leisure activity on the sea. If given a chance I

would like to sunbathe on the beach followed by a sumptuous breakfast.

I do not need any specific preparations to do this activity. Nevertheless, some

preparations are important for relaxing expeditions. I will have to take a break from

study/work, ask a friend to accompany me, prepare appropriate clothes, a mat,

some sunscreen lotion, sunglasses, headphones for good music and decide upon

the destination.

It is going to be a very easy activity as it is a leisure activity. There is no fear of doing

it as it is not adventure water sports like river rafting or scooba diving. I really wish

to try this because of many reasons. I wish to feel the water and sand while I bask

in the sun. I have seen it on travel shows on TV and it interests and amuses me.

Soaking in the sun will also beat my stress and give me tons of natural vitamin D. A

full-fledged breakfast with a friend thereafter is a relaxing feeling indeed. I want to

feel rejuvenated and get away from the mundane routine. This leisure activity will

give me an opportunity to reenergize myself and be with nature and so I wish to do

  • However, I am really keen on trying on some water sports.
  • Recently my friend went to Goa and he enjoyed many water activities.

What it is?

  • However, he told me his favorite among them was canoeing.
  • He actually made a video and it looked really fun.
  • It is not a very common sport in India but one of beaches in South Goa offers it.
  • However, not many people go there because there is no road connectivity to the beach.

What you need to prepare?

  • Canoeing involves paddling a canoe with a single bladed paddle.
  • It is an ancient form of transportation but nowadays it is mainly a recreational activity.

How easy or difficult it is?

  • It requires a person to be fit as it is very demanding physically.
  • And that’s another reason why many people don’t for it.
  • But preparation wise it’s just like riding a bicycle.
  • It takes some time getting used to how to balance and direct the canoe, but once a person gets hang of it, it’s very easy.
  • Also, it can be dangerous if the waves are high, so not all beach locations are suitable for it.
  • Besides canoeing, my friend tried a lot of other water sports but his enthusiasm about canoeing was uncontrollable.
  • In fact, after coming back from Goa, all he talked about was canoeing and how he could not wait to go back and do it.
  • His passion also got me interested.

And explain why you want to try it?

  • Then, I searched some more about it on the internet and I also felt like trying it.
  • We both planned to go there in winter of 2020, because the summers in Goa are very hot.
  • But due to lockdown we had to postpone our plans.

Conclusion:

  • Now, we are both waiting for the vaccination process to be over, so that we can go there.

Being an adventurous person, I have participated in a lot of activities for fun and excitement.

However, I haven’t got an opportunity to participate in activities near the sea.

What it is?

Next month I am going to Goa for an official trip. Over there I will swim in the sea.

What do you need to prepare?

Since I am an expert swimmer, I need not prepare much. I need to carry the swimming kit.

How easy or difficult it is?

If I talk as a swimmer, I do not think it would be a daunting task because I have sufficient experience. Since my childhood, I have been swimming at different water bodies like lakes, canals and rivers.

However, swimming in the sea would be an altogether new experience for me. Hence, once I would do it, then only I would come to know.

And explain why you want to try it?

Since my childhood, I have had this uncanny knack for indulging in water sports activities. I have already tried swimming with the flow of the river Ganges. Apart from this, I have tried my hand at river rafting too.

I would like to have another feather on my cap by swimming in the sea alongside the tides. My friends who have done swimming in the sea talk very high about their experiences.

The stories narrated by them motivate me to try this activity as soon as possible.

I have tried many activities near the sea. But this time, I would go beyond the conventional domain and try a new activity near the beach.

What it is?

The new activity I am going to try is building sandcastles alongside the beach.

What do you need to prepare?

To prepare for this, I require a lot of sand, water, a lightweight shovel, two buckets and some carving tools.

How easy or difficult it is?

It seems easy, but for a novice like me, it would be a daunting task. Any deviation from the plan could jeopardize the whole structure. Hence I need to work with determination, dedication and discipline to get fruitful results.

And explain why you want to try it?

There is no denying this conviction that building sandcastle is one of the most popular beach activities.

The prominent reason for trying it is to do such activity where the whole family participates.

Whenever I go on holiday with my family, all members remain busy with their mobile phones. Due to this reason, we do not enjoy the holidays to the full extent.

Due to this reason, I have chosen this activity because the whole family’s involvement is a must for creating a perfect sandcastle. For a single person, it is a cumbersome process. With teamwork, I will make an enticing sandcastle with tremendous ease.

Apart from this, another reason is that I want to try something different this time. I am tired of doing the same kind of activities near the beach. By indulging in making sandcastles, I will break the monotony.

Sea offers plenty of recreational pursuits. Although I do not have much interest in sea sight activities, and I have never participated in free time pursuits on the sea, If given a chance, I would like to take part in Scuba Diving

There is no denying this conviction that scuba diving has become a popular pastime pursuit in numerous nations. In this activity, the participant has to dive in the sea with the support of an oxygen cylinder, a special mask, and equipment to breathe

Being dangerous support for those who are non-swimmers, the participants need to do it under the guidance of a seasoned coach.

Since I am a non-swimmer, I need to do a lot to prepare for it. The first requirement is to enrol at a training centre, and I am pretty sure that for me taking part in it would be a daunting task. And I will take a substantial amount of time to hone my skills for doing Scuba Diving properly.

I have read a lot of blogs and reviews of numerous people who have experienced swimming in deep water. According to them, it is an amazing activity which makes you come across a variety of sea creatures and corals, along with like-minded people. They have further stated that this activity is an out of the world experience, and it makes you feel close to nature. While doing this activity, people usually get into a state of flow and forget their worries.

There are a plethora of reasons which have generated my interest in this sport. The first and the foremost is my love of marine life. While coming close to the water animals, I will click pictures. The second reason is I have this uncanny knack for trying different things in my life. I would like to make good use of this habit by going beyond the conventional domain and trying a new activity.

Being an adventurous person, I love to try new activities.

What it is?

One activity which I haven’t done yet, and I would like to do in the future is to play beach volleyball.

What do you need to prepare?

To prepare for this activity, I need a volleyball, two poles and a net. Apart from this, I require 8-10 people who can play with me.

How easy or difficult it is?

Playing volleyball at the beach is not that easy as it seems. First of all, the areas near the sea experience persistent winds. Due to that, the ball deviates. So a player needs to plan moves keeping the deviation in mind. Apart from this, most of the players play volleyball on a flat surface. Whereas, beach volleyball happens on a rough surface on the beach. Due to this, sometimes the players miss the target.

And explain why you want to try it?

The primary reason for trying this activity is to do something out of the box. Though I have played many sports, unusually playing the usual sports is an altogether new experience.

Moreover, I have played volleyball at the national level and won many awards. Now I would like to step out of my comfort zone and carve out a niche for myself in beach volleyball.

This game is in the nascent stage right now, but with time it would become a great sport. I would like to catch this opportunity by becoming a league player in this game. Many nations have recognised it as a sport, and it might come as a new sport in the coming Olympics.

There are a plethora of recreational activities that one can do on the sea. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of sea sight activities and  I have never indulged in leisure activity on the sea. But If I had to choose one then it would be scuba diving. Nowadays, scuba diving becomes a leisure activity in many countries. It is a sport in which people dive into the sea with an oxygen tank, mask, special mask, and breathing equipment.
No doubt, scuba diving is an extremely dangerous activity and it needs proper training and guidance. I do need specific preparations to do this activity. So, I need to join the training center and I know it will take a bit of time to learn because it is not an easy activity, one should know how to swim in deep water. I want to try this activity full of training.
I have heard from many individuals that the experience of deep water is amazing where one can explore a myriad of sea creatures and colors, as well as people, forget their troubles because each dive make them thrive and it’s the best activity in the world.
Furthermore, I want to do this activity for various reason, such as explore new water animals, nature’s beauty in the deep-sea as well as I will not only click pictures of marines but also upload on social sites and I also want to build strength and cardiovascular fitness because this activity provides all over body workout. This leisure activity will give me an opportunity to re-energize myself and be with nature and so I wish to do it. Definitely, I will try in the future and it would be exhilarating to go out.

I would like to talk about one of my favourite activities on the beach, swimming. You know, I live in Hai Phong, a coastal city with golden beaches and the nearest seashore is just fifteen minutes from my house. So, in the summer, my friends and I often go there and swim in the cool water to avoid the hot weather.

Actually, swimming is a relatively easy sport. I learned how to swim when I was about 8 years old and it took me only a week to get familiar with a number of swimming strokes, like breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. Before entering the water, I often warm up and stretch my muscles and joints to avoid any injuries, then put on my swimsuit and jump right in.

I really enjoy swimming on the beach because of a few reasons. Firstly, unlike other water sports such as diving or windsurfing, which require costly equipment, swimming costs nothing. Secondly, swimming is extremely beneficial to our health. It provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of our muscles are used during swimming. It also builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness. Lastly, going swimming is a good means of recreation as it allows me to unwind, alleviate stress and have a great time with my friends.

Summer is coming so I’ll definitely make a plan to visit the beach soon. I intend to go to Nha Trang beach as it’s considered as one of the most magnificent beaches in the world.

Very rarely. There aren’t many beaches in my country in most locations. Yes

I have visited the beach a couple of times but it is not a frequent activity. I

must have gone two to three times and I haven’t done any major activities

Going to the beach is a relaxing experience and so most people go there to

take a break. The water, sand, sunrise and the cool breeze makes it an

attractive place. It is the feel that we get on the beaches which makes them

famous places to visit.

 

 

  1. Would you like to live by the sea? Why?

Yes, I would love the idea but not forever. Temporary stay at the beach is a

good idea and I would love to have that refreshing and cool stay. I would

wish to stay there only temporarily because I am used to living in a city and

that is where I like. At least I can go to the sea shore and feel different.

 

 

  1. What could be some disadvantages of living near the sea?

Getting the basic things like grocery, vegetables and fruits would be difficult

if we live near the sea. Things would be expensive. Sometimes it might get

depressive too. One might feel cut off from the world too.

 

 

  1. What kind of beach activities are common according to you?

I think playing on the sand, sun bathing, wandering on the shore, eating and

parasailing activities are common. Adventure water sports activities like

scuba diving, snorkeling and river rafting are uncommon and done only on a

few beaches.
