Introduction 1

This was a very memorable event of my life and I will remember it for lifetime. It

happened before a couple of years in the locality where I live (you may change the

place and time). I was with my family but we were all in a get together of all the

residents of our colony. This happens once every six months.

The reason why most people were smiling is very special. The person who had

arranged the get together had organized a very meaningful activity. He brought

every senior citizen on the stage one by one. All the people were supposed to share

about their good points and how important the senior members are for us.

The environment was full of joy and gratitude. Each and every senior member felt

so good from within and this was clearly visible in the spark in their eyes and their

body language. Everyone present there was smiling and beaming with happiness. A

lot of respect was showered on the elders.

For the first time in my life I was a part of a get together where I saw all happy faces.

There was no gossip and no complaints. Only sharing of good things and

appreciating the value of older generation in the community. I felt very nice and I

look forward to more such events where we can bring smile on faces and hearts. It

was a heart touching occasion.

Introduction 7

It is a well-known fact that a smile improves face value. Recently I experienced a special day when many people were smiling.

When did it happen?

The occasion was the reopening of our colleges after the lockdown. It occurred last year.

Who you were with?

I was with my classmates and teachers.

What happened?

Due to covid 19, the whole nation was in a state of lockdown. We all friends met after a very long time. We had a sigh of relief, and we all were having a broad smile on our faces.

Explain why many people were smiling?

The main reason was the freedom we all had. For college students attending lectures, eating and the canteen and going for a long drive are the usual pastimes.

However, due to the lockdown, all the fun and excitement in our lives ceased to exist. Although we friends remain connected through social media, face to face interaction was missing.

Gradually boredom had made inroads in our lives. Hence the life became monotonous. Everybody was ready to break the shackles to get the fun back into their lives.

Finally, when the college had opened, we got our fun back. All students and teachers were in a state of euphoria. There was excitement all around. It seemed like a festival was going on.

The college arranged a live music band for the entertainment of the students. Many students were shaking their legs at the live music. The food court inside the campus had full occupancy after a long time.

The reopening ceremony brought the smile back on the faces of students and the teaching faculty.

Introduction 8

Seeing other people laughing always makes me happy just as much as sharing a story of laughter. I also believe that people should always try to laugh as much as they can, whenever there is a reason for it because laughter makes us feel happy and alive. So, it is indeed a pleasure for me to talk about this cue card topic.

It was about a couple of years ago when one of my cousins was getting married. All of our family members, friends, relatives and many other distinguished guests had come to attend the marriage ceremony. It was also attended by a number of little children. However, having the most fun at that marriage ceremony was a “gang of children” who seemed to be “fearless”.

Immediately after arriving at my cousin’s place, they made sure that they were announcing their “loud presence” everywhere by opening the “gift boxes”, playing with the flowers of wedding decoration and running to the kitchen, among many other things. Sometimes, they could also be seen “posing” for pictures to the wedding photographer.
Introduction 8
Anyway, after finishing the formal activities of the wedding ceremony and enjoying the delicious food, there finally came time for watching wedding videos. And, the videos were being played on a big screen through the use of a projector so that everybody was able to enjoy them. The guests got busy watching the videos (videos of important events and activities of the wedding ceremonies) while enjoying some light snacks also at the same time. Then, suddenly, everybody burst into laughter, and it had continued for about a minute. By the way, I think, it was one of the most natural and “contagious” laughter, I had ever heard in my life.

Anyway, everyone burst into laughter because the particular “gang of children”, causing “mischief” at the wedding ceremony, could be seen secretly carrying the big wedding cake, away from public eyes, at a corner, and then eating it like there was no tomorrow!  Well, the wedding guests couldn’t possibly have expected to see any funnier video of children than this, could they!

Introduction 9
Thank you for this nice cue card topic. While taking a photograph at a family event, everyone had to smile at me as I pointed the camera to them. In fact, without smiles, photographs remain incomplete, at least these days. So, to make the photos complete and better, a smile is a must. And the people who posed for the picture smiled at the camera to get their happy faces clicked. This cue card question reminds me of the day when I took a beautiful picture for some of my relatives.
The event was arranged marking the 19th birthday of Adaliz, my cousin. The event was held on the rooftop of their house and the place was decorated nicely. Some traditional food items were prepared for celebrating the event. And finally, it was time to take photos. Some took group photos while some took selfies. I took a group picture of some of my relatives and they smiled at me because I was holding the camera.
It was more than a birthday party. A family gathering would be the best term to explain the event. The event was participated by almost all the relatives of my family. I went there with my parents and other siblings. Everyone was asking me to take their photos and I was gladly meeting their needs.
Unhappy faces are unexpected and so people smile when they pose for photos, especially in a happy event like a birthday party. So, when I said that I will take group photos, everyone agreed. When they posed, they smiled so that they look beautiful in the photo. When the photos were printed, the smiling faces really looked beautiful.

Introduction 10

Thank you for this interesting topic. Due to our busy and modern lifestyle, it is indeed rare to have time and laughter together with friends and family. We cannot manage enough time for us due to the hefty schedule we follow. But last month, we all celebrated and smiled as I was offered a position for the senior executive at a multinational bank in Malaysia.
I went to attend the final interview with a reputed bank operating in Kuala Lumpur on the 24th of last month and I was able to reach the last round of the interview. The interview was held around 10.30 am and it lasted for around an hour. The interview board consisted of five members. One of the members was the Vice President of the bank. As it was a senior position, some other bank high-ups were present in the interview session. Everyone present on the board was happy with my overall performance and so I was offered the job.
So later this evening, I invited some of my friends and relatives in a restaurant to celebrate this happy occasion. Every one of us laughed and enjoyed to our fullest. We enjoyed our food and smiled even every funny and not-so-funny joke.
Well, in today’s busy and stressful lives, it is very important to keep smiling as it reduces the stress to great levels.
A smile can brighten our lives and help us have a productive and happy day.
So, I think people should not forget the importance of spreading cheer and smiles to people near them.
We should arrange get-togethers where we can relax ourselves and have quality time with family and friends.
One such occasion happened in my life when I attended my first cousin, Ankit’s wedding last month.
It was a happy occasion as it was the first wedding in our family in my generation.
So, we had made arrangements on a large scale.
My whole family had gathered for the occasion, even the distant relatives.
Everybody was delighted and impressed with the venue and the decoration.
My aunt and uncle were also quite enthusiastic and were busy welcoming the guests with a smile and some refreshments.
As soon as all the guests arrived, we started the ceremonies planned with Sangeet being the first event.
However, during my cousin’s and his would-be wife’s performance, he went down on his knees to give a ring to his bride.
However, to his embarrassment, he realised that he had forgotten the ring.
My sister-in-law stood there in embarrassment and started staring at my cousin angrily.
My cousin, in turn, started staring at his friend who he thought was supposed to get the ring.
Nonetheless, the people watching this performance were laughing heartily at my cousin and teasing him to no end.
I, too, jumped in and started teasing him about the occasion, which embarrassed him even more.
Eventually, my cousin and my sister-in-law too started laughing and I ran to his room and got the ring.
The day was a very happy one and we still tease my cousin for that incident.

Every smile is having its own agenda behind the smile. So this was the occasion when I saw most of the people keep a smile on their faces.

Children are innocent and they are yet to develop logical thinking. Because
