Introduction:1

 

One sport performance that I have experienced and witnessed live is ‘artistic

swimming’. This sport was first called synchronized swimming. It has been an event

in the summer Olympics since 1984. The current Olympic program has competition

in duet and team events, but in past games, there was also a solo event.

I experienced this sports performance before a couple of years in the town hall of

my city. There was an international sports even taking place in my state and our

mayor had specially invited a team of swimming artists from Russia to our city. This

was a part of the inauguration of the new town hall which had a sports complex and

a swimming pool as well.

I was with my family. My parents, my grandparents and my brother/sister. My father

loves to watch such performances and he had managed a VIP entry pass for us. We

sat on the lawn which was surrounding the pool. The pool was slightly low in height

and so it gave an effect on an amphitheater.

I felt mesmerized and awe-struck by the wonderful performance of the artists. The

music, light and the synchronization gripped me completely and I could not move

my eyes away from this performance. It was a treat not only for the eyes but also

for the heart. I felt overjoyed and also lucky that I could get a chance to see this live.

I was grateful to my father because it was he who made this possible for all of us.

Well, sports play a crucial role in everyone’s life as we all play one or the other game. It can be indoor or outdoor. Apart from playing, watching sports is also extreme entertainment, especially when it is live.

Honestly, I’m more into playing rather than watching. My favourite game Is football and I’m a die-hard fan of Messi. I’ve seen his performance in numerous live matches that telecast on TV.

What it was? and When you watched it?
But here I would like to talk about a football match which was organised last year by our local council to encourage more youngsters to play. Actually, I was a part of the team yet I was not able to play that match due to an injury.

What it was like?
Therefore, I watched it sitting in the stands. The experience was really unbeatable. As it was like riding a roller coaster. There was so much energy in the crowd, people were shouting to cheer up their players. If I talk about the match the competition was too tough between both the teams but at last, we lost by a margin of one goal.

And how you felt about it?
Moreover, It was amazing to see both the team members hugging each other to show the sportiness and celebrated the victory very positively. At last, prize distribution was the best part, as the players who performed well were awarded with trophies and incredible gift hampers. Man of the match won a bullet bike after which he was at cloud nine.

Conclusion:
So this was a match that I watched live and it was a really unforgettable experience.

• A Sports Centre has been recently inaugurated in MY city, and I had a chance to visit it last month.
• I came to know about it through the local newspaper.

What it was?

• The Sports Center was inaugurated by the famous hockey player Pargat Singh and is named after the hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
• Many different sports such as soccer and hockey are played at this stadium and it also has professional coaching staff.
• One can go and learn different kinds of sports activities or just simply go and hang out with your friends.
• Since it opened, the Sports Center was on my must-visit radar.

When you watched it?

• So, when I found out that The Chandigarh Tigers were playing Football in a friendly match on 20th August, I made it a point to buy tickets so that I could have fun at the new Stadium.

What it was like?

• I must say that when I arrived at the 10-hectare Stadium, I was swept away by the thrill and flurry that filled the air.
• There were football fans getting ready to come into the Stadium to support the Home team.
• There were diners, shoppers, families, and the curious ones – like me all enthusiastic and impatient to visit our fresh sports icon.
• The stadium comprises an extensive variety of venues, specifically, a 35,000-capacity stadium, 4,000-capacity Aquatics Centre, 1,500-capacity Sports Arenas, a Water Sports Centre, a Library, and about 25,000 square meters of trading and dining hall.
• What I found the most incredible was the sight of the city skyline.

And how you felt about it?

• It looked glorious and everyone felt stunned at that moment.
• The greatest part about the new Sports Centre is how close the Stadium is to the shopping area.
• It took me just five minutes to get from the shopping centre to my seat.
• I felt pleased that I had the chance to visit this remarkable stadium and be part of history,
• watching the first ever football game played in the new Stadium of the city.

• Being a cricket fanatic, I have an uncanny knack for watching cricket matches.
• I always find it comfortable to watch a cricket match from the comfort of my home.
• However, on one occasion, I specially went to Mumbai to watch a live cricket match.

What it was?, and When you watched it?

• It was in the year 2013.
• I went to Mumbai to see a cricket match between India and West Indies.
•  It was the last match of Mr Sachin Tendular, a legendary batsman.

What it was like?

• The environment inside the stadium was breathtaking.
• The stadium was jampacked.
• People from faraway nations like Canada had come to watch Sachin playing for the last time in an international match.
• Since I was standing close to the pavilion, I managed to get the autograph of Sachin.
• When India won the game, the crowd went berserk.
• When Sachin was leaving the grounds, most of the people had wet eyes.

And how you felt about it?

• It was an emotionally enriching experience for me.
• On the other hand, I was happy that finally, I got a chance to see Sachin playing live in a cricket match.
• But, on the other hand, I was sad deep inside because it was his last international cricket game.
• That day I learnt, an important lesson, and that nothing is permanent in this world.
• Sachin Tendulkar played international cricket for 24 years, and his career ended that day. It shows that good things also come to an end.
• Therefore we must accept change in our lives.

• Being an ardent fan of cricket, I watch most cricket matches.

What it was?, and When you watched it?

• Although I watch most of the matches on television, last year I watched a live international cricket match.
• I watched it at the newly built international cricket stadium near my hometown.

What was it like?

• The constant roars from the crowd made the match more interesting.
• In the middle of the game, I met friends from my college.
• I joined their group, and we all had guffaws of laughter.
• Since it was a day and night match, the 2nd innings was played under floodlights.
• During that time, the whole crowd went berserk.

How did you feel about it?

• For me, it was a dream come true
• It was an out of the world experience for me.
• For the first few minutes, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
• My favourite sports stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and David Warner were playing right in front of me.
• That day I realized that the best place to watch a cricket match is the cricket stadium.
• When we watch it on the television, we do not get the right feel.
• Whereas at the stadium, you feel as if you are a team member and you are helping your team by cheering up for the players.
• The day became special because, after many struggles, Team India won the match
• Immediately after the game was over, I managed to go close to Virat Kohli.
• I had asked for his autograph, and he humbly accepted my request.

• Being a football player, I do not get enough chances to watch a live match as an audience.
• Because most of the times, I have to participate as a player
• However, recently due to an unforeseen contingency, I got an opportunity to watch a live football match

What it was?, and When you watched it?

• Last month, there was a match between our college and St. Stephen’s college football team.
• I was a part of my college team and eagerly waiting to participate in that match.
• However, just before the match, I met with an accident.
• I didn’t get many injuries, but I had swelling on my right foot.
• After a discussion with my coach, I decided not to play the match.
• However, I stayed at the stadium to watch the match and cheer for my team.

What it was like?

• Since, the game was between two of the best teams in our city, there was a huge crowd at the stadium.
• After the first half, I had gone to my team’s dressing room and advised my team.
• My team was lagging by one goal at the starting of the second half.
• Nevertheless, we won the match.
• Upon winning, the captain told me that my advice had helped them to score three goals

And how you felt about it?

• Initially, I was upset for not being a part of the team.
• But as the match had progressed, I started enjoying it.
• Moreover, I realized that we can learn about the game not only by playing it but also by watching it.

There is no denying this conviction that sports play a vital role in people’s life. Due to this reason, a rising number of individuals play various games in this contemporary epoch. People these days prefer both indoor and outdoor sports. Although playing a sport is the ultimate fun, watching a live sports match works like a charm.

Being a sports enthusiast, I find extreme pleasure in playing sports. I am a big fan of soccer, and my favourite player is Ronaldo. I have this habit of watching every match played by him on Tv.

What it was? and When you watched it?

However, I would like to talk about a soccer match arranged last year by the local authorities to motivate more young adults to participate. In reality, I was a key member of the team, yet I did not take part in that match because of an injury.

What it was like?

The injury forced me not to play that match. However, I had a close look at it while sitting in the stadium. 

Initially, I had apprehensions about whether I would enjoy the game or not. But as the match had progressed, I started enjoying it. Till the end of the match the situation kept on changing and the audience remained too much engrossed in the game. People were screaming to buck up the players. In the match, both teams played with determination, dedication and discipline. Finally, our team won the game by one goal.

And how you felt about it?

For me, it was an enticing experience to see both the team players showing sportsman spirit by hugging each other to exhibit their optimistic attitude. Finally, during the prize distribution ceremony, the best performers the players who performed well were given trophies.

All in all, it was a different kind of experience for me.

Nowadays, there has been a positive trend that sport has gained popularity in society. It is true that playing sports will bring many health and physical benefits. Here, I  am going to talk about when I watched a live cricket match.

I never saw a live match before but last year I hardly got a chance. A match was played between our locality boys and other locality boys. It was the first match and it was a cricket match. It was played in our locality ground. To be honest, I am a die-hard fan of cricket.

Before taking our seats, we took some drinks and popcorn. Fortunately, we got seats in first-line and I looked closely at all my favorite players.

Match started at 10 am and both the teams came then the toss was done and won by our locality boys. The crowd was full of excitement and hooting for their favorites teams. They gave a marvelous start, on the first ball they made 6 runs by sixer. Gradually match became interesting and in 50 overs they got 180 runs. The fielding was not quick and it was a blessing for us. But the climax came, other teams came, they were good at batting. Moreover, our locality boys were popular for spin bowling. In 50 overs, they could get only 130 runs.

Our locality boys won by 50 runs. It was an awesome match. They got a trophy and 5000 cash prizes. This match gave name and fame to our locality. It was a great victory.

It was quite entertaining and valuable for me. As the players were remarkably skillful, I was able to learn a lot from them to improve my own skills. In fact, it is the most unforgettable match that I have ever-lively watched. I will definitely watch another match in the near future.

Well, football is the only sport that I usually watch with my brother. I’m terrible at playing football but I love watching a football match. Both home and away games cause high levels of emotion in me. Today, however, I would like to talk about a match where I did not care about the score.

There was an occasion a few years ago when I went to watch a football match in a town about half an hour from where I live by bike. It was a charity match to collect funds for the local school – and it was very well attended. I think there must have been over 5,000 people there, which isn’t bad because there weren’t any star players. The atmosphere was so exciting that it encouraged the players a lot as soon as they came into the football pitch with the referee. My brother and I were 100 percent focused on the match and provoked the players in two teams for their fair play.

I am really deep into this football match for a number of reasons. Firstly, the players in two teams are not the professors, but they really ensured fair play and no red and yellow cards were released. Secondly, because of the charity aim of the match, the ticket fair then was donated for this local school and poor children, so I felt happy to contribute something to help other people.

In fact, it is the most unforgettable match that I have ever lively watched.

1. What is the difference between watching a live match and a recorded

match?

Oh! There is a lot of difference indeed. Live match is real and the recorded

one is as good as stale. We already know the results and so there is no fun

or excitement in watching the recorded match. Some classic matches can be

watched again but there is no comparison. Live is live and I think that is the

only way to watch a match.

 

 

2. How is it different to watch a match in the stadium and on TV?

There is a big difference and both have their own plus and minus points.

There is a different ambience and excitement in the stadium and we can feel

the roar and disappointment of the audience at every milestones. In TV we

can watch it at our own comfort and it also does not cost us anything.

 

 

 

3. During the pandemic some matches were played without an audience?

What is your opinion about it?

I think it is a great idea for many reasons. One is that the show must go on.

Secondly the players are kept in a bio bubble so it is safe for them and they

can continue to entertain the people. Finally, if the match is going on, the

people will sit at home and be glued to their television which will in turn help

break the chain of the virus.

 

 

 

4. With whom do people like to watch live matches or sports performances?

Most of the times it is with friends or with like-minded people. I have also

seen some people watch matches alone and some of them call a bunch of

people at home to watch a match together. I depends from person to

person.

 

 

 

5. Which type of live matches are very popular in your country?

In my country one of the most popular games is cricket. Therefore, cricket

matches are the most popular in my country. We have one day matches, test

matches and also the Indian Premier League which is well-known across the

world.
